Stomach flu closes Costa Rica luxury hotel

A luxury resort hotel on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast has been closed after more than 200 tourists were sickened in repeated outbreaks of stomach flu, authorities said. The closure of the Bracelo Playa Tambor, owned by a Spanish hotel chain, came at the peak of a Christmas season that draws flocks of well-heeled US and Canadian tourists seeking respite from the northern winter.
