Spain dismantles large cocaine operation with links to South America

The Spanish Civil Guard dismantled a network dedicated to introduce cocaine into Spain and elsewhere in Europe from South America, in an operation in which were arrested 43 people and seized more than 62 kilos of this drug and more than USD 1.2 million fake. As reported today by the General Directorate of the Civil Guard, the cocaine entered Spain using different methods: using people as “mules”, in maritime containers, hidden in aircraft or by mail. Among the 43 detainees and defendants 124 there are 36 Spaniards, 88 Colombians, Dominicans 9 and 20 Ecuadorian, in addition to two nationals of Argentina and Peru and one from Mexico, Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil, among other countries.
