Sonoita Arizona: Man detained for hauling 621 pounds of marijuana, after asking Border Patrol for directions

nogalesinternational.com reported: Note to drug smugglers: If you get lost while hauling a pot load, it’s probably best to ask directions from someone other than the Border Patrol.

A 21-year-old U.S. man learned that lesson the hard way on Thursday night after he approached agents from the Sonoita Station while hauling a stack of lumber in the back of a pickup truck, a Tucson Sector news release said.

“The subject appeared lost and requested directions from the agents,” it said. “Based on the discussion, agents became suspicious the driver may be involved in illegal activity and requested the assistance of a canine team.” Read Article
