Siemens Executives in Brazil Admit to Bribery Charges

On October 15, 2013, Estado de São Paulo reported that a former executive of the German multinational firm Siemens has admitted to using bribery to gain bids on projects in São Paulo’s subway sector.  The content of these admissions are still under investigation; however, reports suggest that these depositions could significantly alter the direction of the case, and could provide important links to corruption among local politicians.  Prosecutors could also use the depositions as evidence to investigate dealings between different multinational companies.  Read Article
