São Paulo: Suspect Shot During Attempted Assault of Tourist

According to Globo, Brazilian military police opened fire in the capital city São Paulo this Tuesday (23), breaking up an attempted armed assault. The victim, a non-Brazilian tourist, was walking along Rua Oscar Freire in the upscale Jardins neighborhood when two men reportedly arrived on a black motorcycle and attempted to steal the tourist’s watch. The commotion drew the attention of an undercover military police officer who responded by shooting one suspect in the leg and abdomen. He was taken immediately from the scene to the emergency room at Hospital das Clínicas. Read Article.
