Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: International Sex Trafficking Network Dismantled

On August 20, 2013 Listin Diario Noticias reported that authorities have arrested three alleged ringleaders of a criminal network that trafficked women from the Dominican Republic to Trinidad and Tobago for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

The arrested suspects were identified as Martín Ogando García, Daisy Mota Guillermo and Osiris Hernández Morel. Dominican authorities reported that the women were initially captured by Mota Guillermo. The victims were then handed over to Ogando Garcia, who offered them false employment contracts as waitresses in Trinidad and Tobago in exchange for 30,000 pesos (around US $ 712). Read Article
