San Pedro Cholula, Mexico: Only 2 Child Trafficking Victims Rescued Under Jiménez Mayorship

On July 16, 2013 Municipios Puebla Noticias reported that during the administration of the current mayor, Dolores Parra Jiménez, only 2 girls (ages 12 and 13 respectively) have been rescued from the sexual exploitation to which they were subjected in Tijuana.
Authorities revealed that at least 8 underage females from communities belonging to the municipality have been captured by trafficking networks during this three year period. Moreover, oftentimes, those who are rescued continue to suffer persecution by their former captors, including threats made against the families in order to recover escaped victims. Read Article
