Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, Has Violent Wednesday Night

On February 8, 2013, just two days before Carnaval, A Tarde reported that the Bahian capital of Salvador had a particularly violent Wednesday night, as shootings were recorded throughout the metropolitan region. Two people died earlier that afternoon after they were shot in a marketplace. Police also registered three additional homicides during the night, in the neighborhoods of Calabetão and Pau da Lima. Another two were shot, but were taken to the hospital, where they are expected to survive.  Read Article
