Russian Social Network aims to overtake popularity of FACEBOOK in Peru

laprensasa.com reported that the Russian social-networking Web site VK aims to displace Facebook as the Peruvians’ favorite in the medium term as a first step toward establishing its presence throughout the Latin American market, its representatives said.

In a statement on the elcomercio.pe portal, the corporate vice president of VK, Ilya Perekopsky, said that to meet their goals they intend to win 2 million Peruvian users by 2015.

“Our goal is to obtain the first million users and then it will be much easier to duplicate and even quintuplicate that number, and so top the number of Facebook fans,” he said. Read Article
