Royalty Reform Protests Immobilize 4 Departments in Colombia

•The protestors are intent on blocking important roads within the 4 departments have affected Meta, Guajira, Arauca and Casanare per rcnradio.com.
•They are protesting the royalty reforms passed by the Colombian government including which is a reform in La Guajira that will cut off $328 billion pesos that would have gone to programs for education and healthcare.
•The protestors hope to halt economic activity such as the pumping of natural gas and coal and salt mining. Read Article
