Rio de Janeiro declares state of emergency for dengue

The state of Rio de Janeiro declared emergency in 36 municipalities because there were almost 42,000 cases of possible infection. So far, the government of Rio de Janeiro no fatalities have been reported in the official statistics, although the possibility exists that has, since not all patients know they have dengue. Frequent rains during this time of year and the heat are factors that facilitate the spread of infected mosquitoes, which in 2012 killed 43 people in Rio de Janeiro and infected more than 184,000.
