Resistencia, Argentina: Translator to Meet with 7 Undocumented Asians Detained

On July 25, 2013 Diario Chaco Noticias reported that a Chinese language translator has been called in so that authorities in Resistencia can question 7 undocumented Asians, three of which were detained following a routine stop at a police checkpoint. The driver was later arrested for violation of the law against Migrant Smuggling and Human Trafficking, while the victims were sent to a victim rescue center pending further investigation.

Police later determined via the Chinese language translator that the victims are 16, 18 and 31 years old, respectively, and that they come from the Fujian province of China. They have been scheduled for an interview tomorrow in order to determine the nature of their presence without documentation in the Chaco province of Argentina. Read Article
