Rafael Correa states that FARC is not a terrorist group

Eluniverso.com reported that Rafael Correa also referred to the alleged abuses of transnational corporations. His position started the applause of those present because the local government has called on the Canadian mining company Barrick Gold to renegotiate a contract to mine gold and silver.

Earlier, during an interview with local journalists, Correa said that the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) are not a terrorist group. “I do not think (we are terrorists) are a subversive group, though I’m not at all agree with them,” he said.

He said that calling them terrorists has been imposed in the United States. “To begin with we will not accept impositions, if I asked another way to think about it.” Read Article
