Quito Ecuador: move to new airport in Tababela to begin February 10, 2013

According to Extra.ec the countdown to the deadline of the old airport of Quito Mariscal Sucre has begun. In 14 days will be held the first flight from the new airport in the capital, located in Tababela.
Yesterday, the council reported on the transfer of airport equipment and detailed security plan that will run from February 10 to take advantage of the holiday. Other dates of shipment will be on 18 and 19 February, in the evening and early morning to avoid conflicts with traffic. The moving trucks, passenger travel and shipments of flowers will run on three routes. The authorities took into account several critical points during the move as possible sabotage during transportation of equipment, climatic factors and possible accidents. The Mariscal Sucre airport will become, during the move, in the Operations Center (COP) and from there all the security control.
The company in charge of the move is Quiport and DHL. In addition to institutions like the Mayor, the security ministries, Interior and Defense. Read Article
