Quito Ecuador: Isofoton to invest 100 million euros in solar cell plant

The manufacturer of solar Isofoton invest 100 million euros to build a photovoltaic plant of 50 megawatts (MW) in Ecuador, the country’s first fully permitted to charge a regulated rate. In a statement, Isofoton explained that the plant, located 10 kilometers from Quito, employ 500 people during construction and, once in operation, will generate clean energy to supply 84,000 households. The company stressed that Ecuador is one of the key countries in Latin America, as it has a “privileged position” with homogeneous irradiation throughout the year. Read article
