Quito Ecuador: Firm awarded contract for final design of wastewater treatment plant

Ecuadorian capital Quito’s basic services utility Epmaps has awarded the contract for the final design studies of its US$440mn Vindobona wastewater treatment plant project to American-Colombian consortium, Hazen and Sawyer-PiEpsilon, BNamericas has learned. The final design studies are to include the wastewater treatment plant, a 34km sewage collector pipeline linking the La Tola neighborhood with Vindobona, a 2.4km collector between Vindobona and San Antonio and a hydroelectric power station with the capacity to generate 24MW.
