Popocatepetl volcano remains on alert, evacuation of 28,000

The Popocatepetl volcano remains moderate exhalations but the alert remains.

The Popocatepetl volcano in central Mexico, on Wednesday presented a decrease in the exhalations of steam and ash that are alarming to evict more than 28,000 people, authorities said.

Although the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred) for Mexico reported in the last hours only five moderate exhalations of steam and ash, the alert remains at yellow stage three, a level before the red alert. Read Article
