On January 17, 2013, O Estado de São Paulo reported that four policemen were arrested Monday for suspected involvement in the murder of an adolescent.  The adolescent was determined to be 16 years old, and the crime occurred in the eastern zone of São Paulo on Sunday morning, around 12:30am.  The teenager was involved in a robbery with an older accomplice, and the policemen face charges for killing the young man instead of apprehending him, since he posed no apparent danger.  The Secretary of Public Security said to the Estado that the office will not tolerate crimes or illegal actions done by public officials and that it awaits a full and rigorous investigation.  Read Article
