Police Seize 35 Kilos of Marijuana at Brazilian Amazon Checkpoint

On October 18, 2013, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) reported that police busted a motorist traveling from Mato Grosso do Sul to Manaus with 35 kilograms of marijuana in his car. The car was stopped in Vilhena, in Rondônia.  Police found 33 tablets of marijuana in the trunk, as well as side and rear panels within the vehicle.  The motorist, 27, said that he was to receive R$3,000 upon the drugs’ safe delivery to Manaus.  He was taken to the local police precinct in Vilhena.  Read Article
