Police operation makes connection between FARC and Urabeños drug smuggling operations

ANNP 17-FEB-13. Bogotá DC 13 people were caught in the departments of Caldas, Nariño, Norte de Santander and Santander.

At the end of 16 months of research the Narcotics Division of the National Police in coordination with the Drug Enforcement England, SOCA, and Unaim of the Attorney General’s Office, succeeded in dismantling a network of transnational drug traffickers, who left in evidence links between FARC and the criminal gang “Los Urabeños”, for the production and trafficking of drugs.

Operation “Republica 22” is the result of the implementation of the strategy against drug trafficking policy issued in Citizen Security “Green Heart” led by Mr. Jose Roberto Leon Riano General, Director General of the National Police. Read Article
