Police in Pernambuco, Brazil, Make Biggest Drug Bust of Year on Sertão

On April 14, 2013, NE10 reported that authorities in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco made the biggest single drug bust of the year so far in the state, seizing some 209 kilograms of marijuana. The drugs were discovered in the town of Floresta, in the interior of the state. Two men were arrested and charged with drug trafficking. The drugs were intended for sale in Recife. Police found the truck, a Nissan Frontier, with the drugs after receiving notice from investigations that such a truck was circulating throughout the countryside (Portuguese: sertão).  Read Article
