Police Discover 90 Kilograms of Dynamite Near Limeira, Brazil

On March 2, 2013, Gazeta de Limeira reported that police discovered and seized some 90 kilograms of explosives near the city of Limeira, about 150 kilometers northwest of São Paulo.  Authorities received an anonymous tip that there was a large cache of explosives near Limeira, and so two teams of São Paulo Special Tactics Unit (Gate) were sent out to investigate.  At the location they found 75 parcels of dynamite (bananas).  Also at the site were found three large barrels full of explosives, along with other cartridges that could be used in conjunction with the explosive material.  Police immediately evacuated the area and called in the Gate units.  Read Article
