Milenio.com reports that Peruvian Police asked the FBI for assistance in locating the hackers that attacked at least eight web pages belonging to the Peruvian government, Friday June 24th. The chief of the Dirincri Division of High Technology, Oscar Gonzales, says that the level of attack is very high and therefore the technology available to the department cannot pinpoint where the attack comes from, only that the server is from outside the country. On Thursday, June 27th the government pages were hacked by a group called the ‘Pirates of the Internet.’ Gonzales adds that the hacker group Anonymous has threatened to hack Peruvian government websites, however the current attack is not due to Anonymous. An official of a Peruvian security firm says that these hackers may not be experts, however the security level of Peruvian internet pages is weak and easy to attack.Read Article
