San Martín de Porres, Peru: Victim of Labor Exploitation Rescued from Indigenous Community

On May 30, 2013 RPP Noticias reported that agents of the National Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dinincri) in San Martín de Porres have rescued a 17-year-old girl from an Asháninka indigenous community. The girl was an apparent victim of labor trafficking. According to department agents, the rescue operation occurred at the “Paúl” lodge, the same place where the girl was exploited for work. Additionally, the agents arrested two employees of the lodge, as well as the minor’s guardian. Read Article
