Peru: Shining Path Lieutenant Captured

According to Inforegion.pe OFIANES agents of the National Police of Peru captured Comrade “Artemio,” one of the lieutenants of the Shining Path. The Comrade is known as Larry Utia Perez or Comrade “Larry” or “Cat.” Police captured Artemio near the town of Juanjui in the San Martin region. Artemio was living in this area due to his limited movement from the police manhunt. The criminal was a leader of the Huallaga Regional Committee of the Shining Path with another member, Cresilio Veramendi Meza, or “Tiger,” “Cuban.” Both leaders escaped in the police raid of a Shining Path camp on the 8th of April 2011.
