Peru: Seven Police Officers Die in accident while in transit to provide security for elections

EFE/Focnews.com (latino) reported Seven National Police officers were killed and one was injured when the pick-up truck they were riding in went off a rural road and plunged into a ravine in Julcan, a province in Peru’s La Libertad region, officials said. The officers were traveling from the coastal city of Trujillo to the Andean city of Calamarca, where they were supposed to provide additional security for the regional and municipal elections taking place in Peru on Sunday.
