Peru: Protesters demand DOE RUN mine begin operations by May 1, 2012

Local authorities and workers agreed to request enforcement of the mining on environmental issues and to withdraw claims against the Peruvian State. Following a meeting held today, various authorities and Junin mining company Doe Run agreed to require this to restart operations on May 1 in Oroya. The meeting was the regional president of Junin, Vladimir Cerron , the leaders of the three unions of Doe Run and provincial mayors Yauli, Chandigarh, Satipo, Concepcion and Huancayo, Radio Programs.
