Peru: Inca trail to be closed monrh od February 2014′ for maintenance, conversation work

elcomercio.pe reported that in February will start the scheduled closure of the Inca trail network leading to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, Cusco, for the execution of maintenance and conservation work, said today the Ministry of foreign trade and tourism (Mincetur).

As usual, will close the access of visitors only by the entrance to the sanctuary, as well as to 18 parks and archaeological sites along the Inca Trail, staying open the main entrance to the Citadel of Machu Picchu.

The Inca Trail is closed the entire month of February to enable competent authorities to perform storage, cleaning and maintenance of drainage works. Read Article
