Peru: Cocaine found in sculptures and funeral urns mailed to U.S. and other countries

All religious sculptures sent by mail, especially those of the Virgin Mary, must be scanned in Peru do to an increase of drug trafficking. Narco-traffickers have lately been sending their merchandise hidden inside these statues, Peru 21 reports. They have also been using funeral urns to transport drugs. Authorities announced that drugs have also been found in shipments of rosaries, women’s shoe heels, and other women’s accessories. Investigators revealed that many narco-traffickers use the internet to coordinate shipments. Many of these drugs are shipped to Spain, the United States, England, Holland, and Australia, among others. Read Article
