Peru, 40% of Foreign Tourists Spend USD 3,000 in 10 Days

  • According to Trafficnews.ec about 40% of the tourists visiting Peru are from high-income families, while 60% are middle-income tourists, says the executive president of Tucano Reps, Veronica Napuri.
  • Most international tourists come from Britain, Canada, Australia, Europe, USA, Singapore, and India.
  • Luxury tourists are spending USD 3,00 for a 10 to 12 day stay. While on average tourists spend between USD 1,800 and 1,500. Napuri says that there is no marked cultural difference if the stay is luxury or not.
  • According to Napuri, luxury tourists are very specific about what they want from the trip and that includes authenticity. Furthermore, most desire 24-hour concierge assistance.
  • Eco-tourism is increasing. Napuri says that the new Ollanta government must incorporate the private sector to develop projects that will assist the growth of the tourist business.Read Article
