Patagonia area of Chile begins reforestation program

The Reforestemos Patagonia campaign has been an unprecedented use of social networks to activate the public into action. With the target of 1 million trees still some way off, the organization decided to hold the first Reforestón. The idea builds Chile’s huge fundraising event, the Teletón, which will happen in December. The program was broadcast from La Jardin to the world through various media channels, including the El Mercurio website. Thanks to donations of 10,000 trees from both LAN and Falabella, the goal was reached, with a final tally of 26,350 trees. Read Article
