Paraguay: Teachers to strike for three-months

Posted on August 21, 2014 • Filed under: Labor Issues, Paraguay reported Paraguayan teachers have announced Thursday a strike for at least three months, from August 27 to November 27, permanent claim of their demands to the Government of Asuncion.

On the 27th and 28th of August, the strike of teachers includes hold demonstrations throughout the South American country, and later, shall remain strike permanent if the demands of the teachers are not accepted.

A salary increase of 10 per cent for all teachers and more spending for the education covering training and improvement of the teaching, school meals and cost of textbooks for students, among others, are part of those demands. Read Article
