Paraguay invests $40 million to modernize armed forces

Paraguay will invest 40 million dollars to modernize their armed forces as announced this week by Defense Minister, Cecillo Pérez Bordon. The money will buy new weapons, aircraft, machinery, equipment and construction and engineering work. The Navy will be getting ships, patrol boats, transport planes and a new radar system. Details of the investment were presented to President Fernando Lugo who fully supports the modernization project, according to infodefensa.com.
