Panama has been experiencing some water issues. The newspaper La Prensa conducted a study and had bottled water from Panama tested by an independent lab. The results show that that five brands tested to have unsafe levels of bacteria. Aqua Sana, Aqua Viva, and Purissima, had higher than what is considered safe levels of bacteria. Cristalina, Panama Blue, and Purissima, were found to have levels of being murky above permitted levels. Representatives from the companies stated their water is certified by foreign technicians.
