Colombia: Two clandestine airstrips found; Constructed by FARC

Police in Colombia have announced the discovery of two clandestine airstrips owned by the FARC organization for drug trafficking purposes. The airstrips were located in jungle areas of Balboa and Mercaderes, in Cauca. They were found through joint efforts of the National Police, the Attorney General, and the Colombian Air Force, Univision reports. The airstrips were found unused near cocaine production laboratories and coca crops. According to officials, the Cauca area is one of the most problematic sectors of Colombia concerning drug trafficking and criminal activity. No arrests were reported. Read Article
