Oil spill at Venezuela refinery on Curacao confirmed

Venezuela’s state oil company confirmed today that there was an oil spill at its refinery on the Caribbean island of Curacao over “ten days” and is near completion with the “complete cleanup of affected area”.

In a press release, PDVSA gave no details of the origin and size of the spill and said that “the event presented at the Isla refinery in Curacao, happened more than ten days,” was “duly served” by the company with the Government of the island.

The Venezuelan state stressed that “activities in response to this event are now near completion with complete cleaning of the area affected by the oil spill.” Read Article
