Luz Espinoza, head of ticket sales, was unable to explain how 600 sticks of dynamite found their way onto an Arequipa charter bus headed toward Chala. According to the RPP Nacional, the dynamite was accompanied by other types of explosive materials. This discovery has resulted in the adoption of new security measures, including increased supervision of passenger luggage. Espinoza admitted that employees of the bus line are unable to completely be aware of all passenger baggage contents. Passengers have requested more baggage control and security in the hopes of motivating authorities to consider regulations. RPP Nacional does not report whether anyone was taken into custody or the intended use of the dynamite. Read Article
