Number of ships docking in Guayaquil Ecuador down

The main seaports operating in Guayaquil are receiving fewer vessels. In the first nine months of the year, revenue from merchant ships fell by 20.9% on the docks of Port Authority of Guayaquil (APG) and private terminals that sit in the estuaries. The decrease means that the berths left to attend to September compared to 353 ships that arrived in the same period of 2011, when 1,686 were reported.
