More than a ton and a half of marijuana found in Tijuana, Mexico

Two suspects were arrested after officials discovered over 683 pounds of marijuana in Tijuana, Mexico. Univision Noticias reports the seizure and arrests occurred during an operation in which police pulled over a grey 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. Two passengers were identified as Leopoldo Aguirre Hernández (47) from Jalisco, and Francisco Villa Valencia (41) from Michoacán. Both had arrived in Tijuana 15 days previously. During a search of the vehicle, officials discovered nine packages wrapped in masking tape containing the marijuana. Aguirre Hernández admitted that the drugs were being transported to a location where there were more drugs.
