Montanita Ecuador: Seven Tourists Trapped in rocky area, safely evacuated

radiohcjb.org and telegrafo reported seven foreign nationals were rescued by members of the Navy of Ecuador at the tip of the beach of Montañita, in the province of Santa Elena, early Thursday March 12th.

Catch Naval Staff Palmar had received a call from the ECU-911 on Wednesday night March 11, reporting that foreigners were trapped in that sector. Immediately marine went to the place accompanied by the Fire Department rescuers.

Because sea conditions rescue by sea is difficult, so they waited for the tide to come down to do it from the ground. After three hours the citizens were evacuated safely.

According to reports from tourists, had gone on a hike from Olón bound Montañita, bordering the coastal profile, but rocky conditions in the industry and the effect of the tide were trapped in a crevasse.

The rescued are three Chilean citizens, three Argentine and Italian. Read Article
