Mindo.

Paradise.

Those two words will forever be connected in my mind after my recent visit to Mindo, Ecuador. Because I am a bird-lover, and a lover of natural environments in general, I had heard and read a lot about Mindo (pronounced mean-doe) even before I came to Ecuador. I almost passed up a trip there, opting instead for a trip to the Intag Cloud Forest Reserve, as I was afraid that I would find Mindo overrun with tourists and thrill-seekers, and full of gift shops selling silly trinkets. That was not the experience I wanted. However, two of my housemates journeyed to Mindo while I was still debating whether or not to go there, and when they returned they assured me that I would find a quiet little village and not the tourist-trap I feared. So, I decided to go. . . and I will forever be thankful that I did. I did, however, decide to go during the week, and not on the weekend . . . just in case. Read Article/view dozens of pictures
