Military Commander Defends Acts of Public Order in Cauca, Colombia

•Military Commander Admiral Édgar Cely has defended the military’s acts of public order in Cauca, Colombia in response to requests for the resignation of Minister of Defense Rodrigo Rivera and other top members of the military.
•According to RCN Radio, these requests have come from members of the civil society.
•Cely maintained that FARC and the ELN are the groups attacking civilians and not the Colombian armed forces that are fighting against them. Read Article
