Mexico suffers severe agricultural losses due to drought

The severe drought this year in Mexico has affected 989.000 hectares of agricultural land 750.000 and 1 million head of cattle, said the undersecretary of Agriculture, SAGARPA, Mariano Ruiz-Funes Macedo. He said that “the November 18 nationwide, are total losses in terms of agricultural area.” The official from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) stated that “Climate change is here to stay,” so that emergency measures are necessary to mitigate current conditions.
