Mexico: Oaxacan Human Rights Advocate murdered while visiting mother’s grave

It was the 10th murder of a member of the Zapotec community in Oaxaca since 2013.

The Oaxacan human rights advocate Jaime Lopez Hernandez, was killed by members of organized crime, according to the Indigenous Organization for Human Rights in Oaxaca (OIDHO, for its acronym in Spanish).

Lopez, who was recently named secretary of the OIHDO’s board of directors, was shot in the back on Monday, when he was visiting his mother’s grave, also assassinated last year, said the OIHDO to Mexican news website Revolucion 3.0. Read Article
