Mexico: Human Trafficking Now a Felony

The Standing Committee of Congress in Mexico has approved constitutional reform that will make human trafficking a felony nationwide, El Informador reports. More than 20 state congresses approved the measure before it was taken before the Standing Committee, which makes decisions while Congress is in recess. The measure is being hailed as an “important step” that will reinvigorate the effort to preserve human rights in the country. Read Article
