Mexico: Historic Sites to be Added to “Street View”

The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) is making the most of Google’s informational tools in order to share Mexico’s cultural heritage with the world. According to Noticieros Televisa, the INAH is pairing with Google to add 33 of Mexico’s historic monuments to Google’s Street View, a tool which allows users to take virtual walking tours of an area. Among those sites to be added are Teotihuacan, in central Mexico, and Chichén Itzá, in the Yucatán. The INAH and Google expect to have all 33 sites added to Street View by the end of 2011.
