Mexico: Female Leader of Kidnapping Gang Arrested in Tijuana

Agents of the Ministerial Police arrested Liz Brenda Valdez Marroquín, 21, also known as “ámbar” or “Samara,” El Mexicano reports. Valdez Marroquín was wanted on counts of aggravated kidnapping, violent vehicle robbery and organized delinquency. She and her boyfriend, Neri Alfonso Estrada Valdez, were the leaders of a kidnapping gang, primarily targeting store owners. Estrada Valdez was arrested in March. The Office of the State Attorney General said Valdez Marroquín gave the orders for several kidnappings, including the kidnapping of a 30-year-old woman, which led to the arrest warrant.
