Mexico: “Protect Our Airport” Program to be Implemented Throughout Latin America

The “Protect Our Airport” Program currently in place in the Mexico City International Airport will be copied by 67 other airports in Latin America, according to NSS Oaxaca. Brazil will be modeling their airport security measures on the Mexico City program for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. The program’s success has been such that the Mexican Air Terminal now numbers in the ten safest in the world. At an international meeting on the subject of airport security in Brazil, officials from many Latin American countries voted to create the Latin American Association of Airport Municipalities, for collaboration and implementation of consistent airport security measures.
