Mexican navy seized 136 ton shipment of precursor chemicals from China bound for Honduras

The Mexican Navy seized at the port of Lazaro Cardenas, a shipment from China with 136 tonnes of precursor chemicals used to manufacture synthetic drugs, and bound for Honduras, officials said.
The Secretary of Navy of Mexico (Semar) said in a statement that the substances were found in 1,748 barrels within seven containers of the Mexican Pacific port of Michoacan (west).
The Semar said that in the operation also involved elements of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR Office) and the Tax Administration Service (SAT).Inside the barrels were found “chemicals Monomethylamine and Phenyl Methyl Acetate, both chemical precursors used in the manufacture of synthetic drugs.” Read Article
