Meeting the challenge of agriculture in Latin America

Latin America is in a particularly vulnerable because many countries have pinned their development models in the production of raw materials and even the continent has great natural wealth, one of the biggest challenges for many countries is to achieve greater social justice rural areas. The challenge is to develop a sustainable model that maintains the natural wealth for the sake of future generations, “he said.

Facing the agricultural fair Grüne Woche (Green Week) which opens its doors in Berlin, a dozen specialists from different disciplines were invited by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, close to the Green Party, and by organizations like Oxfam Germany and the agency Catholic Misereor, among others.

The aim of the conference “Agriculture in Transition” was to discuss the implementation of a new model that is more sustainable agriculture with the environment and natural resources and allow feed a growing population on the planet. Read Article
